Cross Border Privacy Rules

Based on the 2004 APEC Privacy Framework, the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) system was developed by participating APEC economies to build consumer, business and regulator trust in cross border flows of personal information. With four APEC economies having joined the CBPR system and further progress on interoperability with Europe, the CBPR system has gained increased visibility in the last year.
