South African Banking Risk Information Centre warned that banks in the country had been experiencing repeated DDoS attacks and ransom notes were delivered to a number of staff email addresses.
For nearly eight-hours, AWS DNS servers were hit by a sustained DDoS attack. The servers were essentially jammed such that their basic mitigations appeared to have little or no effect.
