In opposition to the proposed UK Online Safety Bill, Apple has issued a statement referring to encrypted messaging as being critical to privacy and online safety.
Both WhatsApp and Signal have already indicated that they will pull their business from the UK market entirely over privacy concerns if the Online Safety Bill ultimately becomes law.
As children spend more time online and engage with devices at an earlier age, it becomes a collective responsibility of parents, teachers, schools, governments, and businesses to help create a safer internet for children.
