David Medine is an independent consultant with more than 25 years of data privacy and security experience. He was the first chairman of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, an attorney fellow at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and special counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Previously, he was a partner in the law firm WilmerHale, senior adviser at the White House National Economic Council, and associate director for Financial Practices at the Federal Trade Commission where he took the lead on internet privacy. He has taught at Indiana University (Bloomington) and George Washington University Law Schools.
