Mike Spertus is a Fellow, Vice President, and Chief Scientist for Cyber Security Services as Symantec as well as a Full Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. He has a long career in building reliable and secure software systems, starting with his award-winning startup, Geodesic Systems, that produced self-healing software systems up to his latest work at Symantec, where he recently was Chief Architect for the HortonWorks Data Heroes Data Scientist award-winning Authoritative Data Lake, one of the world's largest repositories of security data. He is a holder of over 30 patents, many security-related.
